Maker Institute, Cas

In November, 2014, supported by the Shenzhen Municipal Government, Maker Institute, the international Maker center in Shenzhen was jointly founded by Nanshan District and Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT), CAS. Maker Institute focuses on the cultivation and assistance for Makers and helps them innovate and practice to realize their dreams. It also assists companies in low-cost innovation and low-cost trial and error, in order to improve their innovation capability. At present, there are nearly 200 moved-in Makers, 42 innovation projects and 6 Maker camps which are jointly founded by renowned enterprises or public institutions such as TCL, Nanshan District Committee, Education Department of Baoan District, Kuwe Science & Technology, and TS. Among the Maker teams, two teams got the angel investment. Besides, there is one team got crowd funding on Taobao for its product and another will start the crowd funding firstly on the Demohour. Both two teams got the initial investment intention from the international renowned investment institution. for makers and startups, we do : incubation support (funds,goverment, pitching,basic services.) communication (activities, contests.) education (mentorship,salon.)
