Malvern St James is a leading boarding and day school for students aged 3-18 located in Malvern, Worcestershire. MSJ Prep (Reception-Year 6), Senior (Year 7-11) and Sixth Form (Year 12-13) sit together on the main school site. Boarding houses are a stone’s throw away, and a short walk from the town of Malvern where students can go shopping, have coffee, or see a film or play as they grow older and more independent. At MSJ we achieve excellent academic results, driven by inspirational teaching which focuses on the individual and encourages students to be ambitious, confident and to follow their passions. We pride ourselves on the fact that there is no ‘MSJ type’ and understand that all of our students have different talents and strengths that all add value to our school community. It may be medicine, engineering, politics, sports or the expressive arts – all routes are equal. The curriculum also supports pupils who need extra provision including very able students, and those for whom English is an additional language. Those who have specific areas of expertise have adapted timetables to allow them to focus on their specialism, giving time to practise and train, with personalised coaching and mentoring sessions. Our ‘Russell Up’ programme provides preparation for the most competitive UK and international universities and career pathways. Careers support is provided throughout the Senior School and students applying for courses in Medical Sciences and Law are mentored by subject specialists.
