MammaItalia offers free access to high-quality products to all Italian Food Lovers, wherever they are across the world. To Italian expats, so that they do not have to give up the taste and smell of their home. To international consumers and Italy lovers, so that they can find and purchase them without running into cheap imitations. Starting from this need, two years ago MammaItalia’s mobile app was born, the first search engine and geolocalization system for real Italian food abroad, now integrated with a marketplace allowing users to order it and having it delivered to their doorstep. Artisanal craft, tradition, unique flavours hard to find anywhere else around the globe: this is what has always united Italy. Which is why, every single day, our team selects Italian stories and agricultural excellences, by aggregating both smaller and bigger producers on one single e-commerce, promoting their specialties’ direct sale. Thanks to a rich database, daily updated by our community, we allow users abroad to locate pasta, wine, oil, cheese, preserves and much more around them, divided by brand and product type. Shops promoting authentic Made in Italy outside our borders gain visibility, as well as agricultural companies having to face the consequences of Italian Sounding and counterfeiting everyday. A “Click & Collect” feature is coming soon on the app, allowing consumers to select the products they want to order and pick them up in a shop or having them delivered at home. Every product is more than a tag, and thanks to our partnership with QualityChain, a startup founded by three people from Cagliari later emigrated in Switzerland, we can bring its hidden potential to life: by scanning a QR code, the consumer can access though his smartphone the producer’s values, its philosophy, its history, and most importantly its production chain, told in detail and notarized by blockchain technology.
