Manik Mercian

Manik Mercian is an award-winning Australian creative renowned for her creations in jewelled couture and jewellery design which has been showcased on international runways and sought after by leading fashion houses. Growing up in Sri Lanka, Manik has always been captivated by the magical world of ornament and adornment. As a designer and artist, she channels this passion into her work, from creating grand designs to crafting intricate textiles, celebrating beauty and tradition through every piece she creates. Since launching her label Manik Mercian in 2005, Manik has designed pieces for companies such as Swarovski and Karl Lagerfeld and also created for powerhouse talents such as Beyonce and Kanye West. Her work has been featured prominently in publications such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. Additionally, her creations have been sold at renowned retailers like Harrods and Harvey Nichols. A pinnacle of Manik’s career includes being selected among a group of international designers to craft a collection for Atelier Swarovski Spring Summer 2011. The success of this collaboration was recognised in publications like “Unbridaled” and “The Story of Atelier Swarovski” where her designs were featured. Manik Mercian was honoured with the ‘Catwalk Jewellery Designer of the Year’ award at the UK Jewellery Awards in both 2010 and 2011. These awards reflect her commitment to excellence, creativity and innovation in fashion couture and jewellery design. After working between London, Paris and New York, Manik has returned to Sydney continuing her work as a creator and collaborator. Whether it be bespoke jewellery, couture, art installations or textiles, she is passionate about applying her expertise and artistic vision to design and craft show stopping work.
