Mapair specialises in Aerial Thermography to help customers identify and understand variations in temperature. Applications include searching for damaged building insulation, finding flat roof water damage, and identifying electrical high resistance such as in solar PV panels. Thermography is a relatively new surveying technique which is rapidly growing in popularity, as it saves money and time. Thermography is the professional use of non-contact thermal imaging equipment to capture infrared spectrum data, in order to visualise thermal variation and temperature. Mapair was established in 2017 to create a high value aerial surveying capability using Thermography and is a UK Civilian Aviation Authority (CAA) approved operator of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV's). Pilots are PCN trained Thermographers with the necessary skills to safely capture and analyse high value thermographic data.
