Marcelia Al Salam

Marcelia Al Salam is an eco-village and community initiative based in Siwa Oasis, Egypt. Our purpose is to develop, test, and pioneer the first Green Spot in the desert - transforming barren or degraded land into a productive, biodiverse system that can be replicated in other arid regions. We implement this work according to the Foresteer concept, focusing on long-term land restoration through: tree planting and long-term tree care, regenerative agriculture and soil improvement, water efficiency and nature-based solutions, renewable energy (including solar), and low-impact construction using local and natural materials. Marcelia Al Salam functions as a real-world living laboratory where ecological, social, and economic models are tested and improved. We welcome partners, volunteers, researchers, and mission-aligned organizations to contribute to practical desert greening and community-based restoration.
