Marek Industries was founded in October of 2002. James Marek, CGP (Principal/Owner) founded the company and works in Iowa as a consulting geologist and groundwater professional. Mr. Marek has practiced in the environmental consulting business in the Midwest and in Iowa since 1987. MI personnel have performed contracts and works with other professionals including 5 professionals available for performing work activities related to projects when larger projects warrant. In addition, MI has highly experienced environmental technicians located in eastern and western parts of the state of Iowa. This distribution allows MI to service sites efficiently across the state. MI's experience includes performing and managing environmental compliance audits, assessments, and remediation projects at commercial and industrial sites, former manufacture gas plant (MGP) sites, leaking UST sites, state lead hazardous waste sites (Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska), and EPA lead sites (Region VII - Iowa). MI writes and reviews technical content and QA/QC review of documents produced as client deliverables. MI writes project proposals for Phase I ESAs ranging to large remediation projects involving various contaminants in soil and/or groundwater. MI has staff that serve as experts, providing site reviews, depositions, testimony and legal support on behalf of customers for the plaintiff or the defense. MI's Principal/Owner developed and is the co-inventor of a patented Vacuum Vortex Spargaerator technology (web site He is co-owner of RSS, LLC, which is the company that produces the VVS systems in Des Moines, Iowa.
