Marine Systems Modelling

Marine Systems Modelling is an independent consultancy company offering a comprehensive range of modelling services for the marine renewables industry. It was founded in 2016 by Joseph van 't Hoff, building on the experience he gained in the wave energy industry through his PhD at the Marine Research Group at Queen's University Belfast and his work at Aquamarine Power MSM have been involved in a range of different wave and tidal energy projects. These have included early stage concept development and FEED level support. Hydrodynamic models have been developed to varying degrees of sophistication for 10+ different concepts. Hydraulic models, both coupled to WECs or standalone, were produced and used as basis for the manufacture of test rigs. Multiple tank testing campaigns were planned, executed and data analysed to aid design in various different stages of device developments.
