Mark Reeves Architects (MRA) provides a full range of design and professional services on a variety of restoration, refurbishment and new build projects spanning from domestic renovations through to boutique hotels and major residential developments. Throughout, our underlying ethos is to build on an understanding of local context, heritage and vernacular styles to create architecture which is responsive and sensitive to its setting but at the same time unique and distinguished as a result. MRA have a longstanding interest and experience in housing design including the Master Plan Development of medium and large residentially led projects. We have been regular winners of the Housing Design Awards and participated in the Building for Life Regional Seminar initiative to help improve the design quality of British Housing. Our work has been the subject of government design studies and featured as exemplars in government design guidance. Recently, three of our completed projects have featured as exemplars in Building for a Healthy Life. As a result, MRA have developed a unique experience and skill in maximising the quantitative and qualitative development opportunities of any site whilst anticipating matters of detailed design deliverability. As a result, our clients have encouraged us to become involved in Master Plan Development at the earliest stages of the development process. Acting as design team leaders, we work on all stages of the design process including Feasibility, Allocation and Outline stages, Design Codes, Reserved Matters and Full Planning Applications. Our understanding of and expertise in successful ‘place making’ has led to our involvement in a number of high profile hotel projects where our contextually led approach to design and desire to reflect and enhance a locations unique qualities and vernacular resonates with our clients’ desire to deliver accommodation which is in harmony with its environment and draws on intrinsic qualities of location.
