Mary Welsh Foundation

Every child has the right to feel safe, loved and cherished. Childhood should not be painful. It should not be something that one spends the rest of their lives trying to get beyond. It is a time for building positive self-esteem, confidence and learning how to become a healthy, well-adjusted adult. Mary Welsh Foundation was created to build a house that shall provide a safe place for children to live that have been so severely sexually and physically abused that they are unable to assimilate into a therapeutic foster care home. The trauma being so significant that it needs to be addressed in a safe and secure environment that will provide support and counseling services twenty four hours per day. Broken children lead broken lives and broken futures. Mary Welsh House will work to mend the minds and lives of these children. Mary Welsh House will work to break the cycle of abuse through therapeutic intervention and education thus allowing the children to embrace the shift towards body, mind, and spirit for reaching upward and outward in the journey to become whole once again.
