Masjid Hang Jebat

Masjid Hang Jebat, located in Queenstown, Singapore, has a rich history that reflects the evolution of the local Muslim community. Major renovations took place in 1996, which included expanding the prayer hall to accommodate up to 600 worshippers. Despite these upgrades, Masjid Hang Jebat has managed to preserve its rustic kampung charm, which adds to its unique character. One of the mosque's distinctive features is its proximity to the former KTM railway tracks, which adds to its historical significance. The mosque and its adjacent road are named after the nearby Hang Jebat military installation, which pays homage to Hang Jebat, a legendary Malaccan warrior. Today, Masjid Hang Jebat continues to serve the local community in various capacities. It offers weekend madrasah classes for students living in the Queenstown area, providing them with religious education and guidance. Additionally, the mosque organises zikir sessions where praises to Allah are recited, fostering a sense of spirituality and community among worshippers. Managed by Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura, Masjid Hang Jebat plays a crucial role in providing counselling, religious services, and tuition classes to its members.
