The Materials and Health Lab EA 401 is a research team that organizes its mission around 2 research axes: 1 : Diffusion of low molecular weight compounds in polymer matrixes used in the pharmaceutical and medical field: impact on the biocompatibility and biostability. his research axis is divided into 3 main parts- The study of the polymer bulk, its extractables, the diffusion of migrants which may be additives or degradation products that are generated by sterilization processes or environment (inflammatory response, UV…)- The surface state of the material, its evolution and adhesion phenomena occuring on it- The characterization of the biocompatibility 2: Physico-chemical characteristics of drugs The main goals are-To understand, predict and characterize the drug stability profile refering to environment-To study the main mechanisms of the interaction between an active substance, its degradation products and the polymers that may be in contact.
