Mavrix is a startup with a vision to develop India’s best music discovery engine. What is “music discovery”, you may ask. Music discovery is simply finding a new song or artist you love. Today, music discovery in India happens in one of the following ways: 1. It is thrust upon you through an advertizing blitz. You stumble upon it. At a friend’s party, in a restaurant, in a movie, while flipping TV channels, on the radio. You are a music lover and invest time, effort and money to find music you like. You scour the internet for music blogs, watch talent shows on TV, go to concerts, talk to people about music, buy music featuring artists you like, follow artists on social networks, etc. These methods either don't deliver, are unreliable or take up too much of our time. It doesn't have to be this way. We believe music discovery should be easy and fun! And that is what we are doing – building a service that makes music discovery easy and fun for Indians. We would love to tell you more but given that it’s still very early days for us, we want to just focus on building a cool product at this time.
