May & Associates, Inc. is an environmental consulting firm specializing in biological resource planning, studies, and permitting. The firm was founded in 1995 by Loran May, President and Senior Botanist. The firm provides a wide range of services, including: Watershed planning and large-scale resource assessment; Invasive plant removal planning and implementation; Stewardship program development and community outreach; Botanical and wildlife resource studies; Wetland delineations and wetland permitting assistance; State and federal Endangered Species Acts compliance assistance; Habitat restoration, implementation, and long-term monitoring; Mitigation bank planning, establishment, and implementation assistance; Environmental compliance monitoring for construction projects; and Environmental education services. Our biologists have an extensive knowledge of federal, state, and county laws and policies pertaining to sensitive biological resources. We have over 20 years experience in preparing environmental permits and evaluations concerning Sections 7 and 10 of the Federal Endangered Species Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. We each have substantial experience conducting biological surveys throughout California, and specialize in biological resources of the Central Valley, Bay Area, North and Central Coast Ranges, and Sierra Nevada foothills.
