Charles and Maylis created Galerie MAY in the spirit of bringing up to date the approach of the great interior decorators of the 1940s to 1970s. In 2010, when they imagined the first pieces in the collection, they wanted to contrast with contemporary creation, by providing timeless, neoclassical pieces, in line with the various projects of major international decorators. Their meeting is much more than a love story, it's a perfect harmony, a total affinity of tastes, a common vision of the decor that they develop with four hands, making their collection a universe in balance between the masculine and the feminine, the rigor and the madness, the structural and the organic. When today’s decorations are frequently reduced to an immaculate emptiness, la collection MAY by Charles Tassin distinguishes itself with a bold, opulent and very neo-classical decor philosophy. A peculiar attention is dedicated to the drawing, considering every curve and counter-curve for the right balance. This need for perfection comes from a two-artist perspective, submitted to both Charles and Maylis Tassin rigorous artistic prism. This duo produces exceptional furniture, designed in the best tradition of french craftsmanship, combining ancestral know-how with a contemporary approach. A collection of exceptional furniture, using noble materials, which already counts more than fifty pieces in three showrooms rue de Lille, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris.
