Mayat Hart Architects

Mayat Hart Architects and Heritage Consultants is a Johannesburg based architectural practice founded in 2012 by Yasmin Mayat and Brendan Hart. The internationally award winning and diverse work of the practice focuses on the creating and understanding of architectural and spatial interventions rooted in both context, historical narratives and the complex realities of heritage and identity in contemporary South Africa. In addition to its own projects and research the practice has worked collaboratively with a number of leading South African practices on larger projects. The practices services include the full scope of standard architectural services as well as specialised services related to heritage compliance, research, consultation, documentation and restoration with members being Accredited Professional Heritage Practitioners with the Association of Professional Heritage Practitioners.
