MBF Capital Management is the investment vehicle of hedge fund manager Mark Friedman. A participant will leave the three-month internship program with real world experience in the area of investment analysis and market dynamics. Participants will develop their analytical skills and ability to identify timely investments offering asymmetric risk-reward opportunities. Mark has over 30 years of experience in the hedge fund industry and ran his own hedge fund, Avdan Partners, from 1993-2007. There is no better way to learn about the investment world than getting real world experience. Thus, participants’ primary responsibility is to serve as a full-time analyst for Mark Friedman. Under Mark's tutelage, he/she will learn how to conduct fundamental research on public companies as well as analyze other asset classes. Participants will also meet with leading industry experts and fund managers to discuss the inner workings of companies. Through this experience, participants will be exposed to investments in a number of different industries as well as various proven successful investment strategies. In addition to teaching valuable lessons from his own career, Mark will also share advice he has gleaned from thoroughly researching and meeting with some of the most successful investors of the past 50 years. Participants will read a curated selection of articles and books designed to give him/her a better understanding of the history of financial markets and what it takes to become a successful manager.
