mCORE, a mobile cardiac unit, Providing EKG & Echo screenings to high school athletes 14-22 years of age. We are not alone in the fight to raise awareness about Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Ohio House Bill 252 passed in December of 2016 and Ohio will now formally educate our coaches on SCA, potentially saving the lives of many of our student athletes and joining other states around the country. mCORE is the only mobile cardiac unit offering both a Electrocardiogram and Echocardiography at $75.We currently provide our optional heart screening programs to over 160 school systems since 2011. mCORE is also the heart screening partner for Licking Memorial Health Systems Heart to Play Program,providing heart screenings along with sports physicals to over 16 area high schools. Our goal is that mCORE helps provide an answer with cost effective and convenient screenings. Our tests are conducted by registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers and results are read by mCORE Medical Director Dr. Kenneth Berkovitz, MD. Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology and Internal Medicine and sent directly to parents and physicians. In addition, The mCORE Foundation has been established to continue to educate and raise awareness about Sudden Cardiac Arrest. We offer the American Heart Association Hands Free CPR-AED Classes to all our partners at no charge along with raising funds to provide screenings for families that are financially challenged. The foundation on average provides approximately 200 free screenings per year. The mCORE Mission is Simple: Screen as many athletes as possible to prevent these real tragedies from devastating families and communities throughout the country and the world.
