MAKSABY in a brief Realizing the importance of entrepreneurship, innovation and SMEs as key drivers of sustainable economic development, Governments and civil society in Egypt and other Middle East countries have embarked on significant economic and regulatory reforms to open up to global markets and improve their domestic investment environments to stimulate the evolution of small businesses. Founded in 2008, MAKSABY, a dynamic non-governmental organization and the Middle East affiliate of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), strives to play an active role in the field of entrepreneurship development providing a platform for cooperation and coordination between entrepreneurship stakeholders. With a vision of advancing entrepreneurship and small businesses in Egypt and the Middle East, MAKSABY covers Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Morocco, and links to ICSB’s global network of affiliates and members from 70 countries worldwide allowing for access to global knowledge and best practices in the field. Vision MAKSABY aims to be the leading network for Middle East entrepreneurs and SMEs.
