McSwain Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves in partnership with Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical to provide support to the Fire Department and their families as well as the Lawrence community, primarily in the form of awarding scholarships to dependents of LDCFM employees. The organization was created to honor the memory of Jim McSwain, who served as Chief for 27 years of the Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical.
