MD Ecology has a range of clients from different industry sectors, including house builders, renewables developers and engineering consultancies. MD Ecology provides specialist ecological advice to assist in all aspects of the planning process, including input to scheme design, liaison with consultees, ecological surveys and assessment, and the preparation of detailed ecological impact assessments, Environmental Statement chapters, Statements to Inform an Appropriate Assessment, Mitigation Method Statements, Management Plans, Monitoring Strategies and other relevant documents. MD Ecology also provides support during construction, including overseeing ecological mitigation and submitting licence applications for works relating to protected species. Mike Dean also delivers teaching on ecological issues on a number of University courses, specifically in relation to ecological impact assessment and survey and mitigation for protected species, including water voles, otters, and great crested newts.
