Mea Piano Studio

About MEA Piano Studio is an independent piano studio in Northern Virginia. The studio is located in a professional office and offers lessons to students of ages and levels. Numerous non-competitive performance opportunities are available throughout the year for all students. About the Instructor For high school I was able to attend Duke Ellington School of the Arts, located in Washington D.C. The best description is that it's like the movie Fame but way less dramatic. It was awesome being surrounded by so many creative people. During my time at Duke Ellington, I realized I preferred smaller schools. So after graduating I attended Radford University to major in Music Composition. Pre-MEA Piano Studio After graduating, I worked as an In-Home Piano instructor. It was great for awhile but I eventually became tired of sitting in traffic. After a year of in-home lessons I began working at Jordan Kitts as a piano instructor at their Springfield Mall location. It was great and exactly what I wanted. But, things changed. As a result of the very long and slow renovation project at the Mall, Jordan Kitts decided to close the Springfield location. Unfortunately, the next closest location was in Merrifield and I made the assumption that parents would not want to drive up and down 495 for piano lessons. And thus, after many agonizing hours thinking of the "perfect" name, MEA Piano Studio was born. MEA Piano Studio The first location for the studio was in not Alexandria, but in Annandale. It was a small room that I rented from a chiropractor. I stayed there for a few months until I found the location in Alexandria. The MEA of MEA Piano Studio stands for my initials: Michelle Elizabeth Ayler. As the primary instructor and owner, I do everything. I teach private lessons, mostly to kid. And then do everything else. Everything it takes to run a business, for nearly 8 years now, though most of it is too boring to detail.
