Media Education Cic

Media Education is an award winning socially engaged filmmaking organisation with a permanent team of skilled artists and creative facilitators. We work predominantly across Scotland, and also in the rest of the UK. We collaborate with people of all ages from all backgrounds and experiences - with particular emphasis on championing those with protected characteristics, mental health issues and lived experience of trauma, discrimination and adverse life circumstances who require a mentored space to develop the artistic skills to explore their identities. We work side by side as people discover their creative voice, explore issues that matter to them, find audiences for their work, become community leaders and facilitate cultural activity that creates social change. This work often includes research where people work alongside our associates to conduct field work and co-author research reports and peer reviewed articles. The creative journey and outputs become an integral part of the research evidence.
