Media Projects,Inc.is a non-profit organization founded in 1978 by Allen and Cynthia Salzman Mondell, It is dedicated to producing and distributing documentary films that personalize the complexity of social problems, suggest solutions and celebrate the diversity of the human experience. It has produced over 40 documentaries, museum and educational films about historical subjects and social issues. Our films have won numerous national awards and have been selected for prestigious screenings in the United States and abroad. Some have received specialized theatrical distribution and have aired on PBS and national cable networks. Highlights from the body of their work include: Films from the Sixth Floor, six films about the life, death and legacy of President John F. Kennedy shown daily at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza; THE MONSTER AMOUNG US, a documentary about the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe today; and A FAIR TO REMEMBER, a social history of the great State Fair of Texas, that aired on public television stations throughout Texas. This film was also selected by the US State Department as one of 30 American documentaries in 2009 to represent the United States in foreign countries. A REASON TO LIVE, a documentary about depression and suicide among young adults 15-24 years old, won a Lone Star Emmy and CINE Golden Eagle, IN HER SHOES about incarcerated women, SISTERS OF ’77, documenting the story of the first federally funded National Women’s Conference in Houston in 1977, aired nationwide on the award-winning public television series, Independent Lens. Others include DREAMS Of EQUALITY, A REASON TO LIVE, about depression and suicide among young people, WAGING PEACE: The Peace Corps Experience, a documentary that weaves the letters, journals, emails and blogs written by Volunteers with the profiles of four former volunteers who today are still trying to make a difference.
