Media Savvy Cic

Media Savvy CIC is a social enterprise (not-for-profit) organisation, based in the North East of England. Our core business is to promote education, employability skills, creativity, and in some cases, also recovery and rehabilitation. We primarily do this via the medium of digital arts and media, and health, fitness, nutrition and wellbeing. We deliver a range of accredited and non-accredited courses and workshops to an extremely diverse range of learners. We ensure all of our provisions are free at the point of access for our beneficiaries. Maintaining and evolving a successful, innovative and sustainable social enterprise is not an easy job. We have a small team of highly experienced tutors, who are also extremely talented designers, illustrators, videographers, animators and web designers in their own right. To this end, we also offer a range of commercial services, related to the areas digital arts and media, which help us sustain our core social enterprise activities. Our achievements have been formally recognised over the years. To-date, our biggest award success came in 2012 when Media Savvy were crowned ‘Best New Enterprise in the North East and Yorkshire’, in the inaugural Lloyds TSB Enterprise Awards, beating off stiff completion and over 200 other shortlisted businesses. Our Managing Director, Dan, is currently part of the prestigious School For Social Entrepreneurs' Scale-Up Programme and is the only representative from the North East.
