Mediawise Society

Mediawise Society develops nationwide media literacy education programs with a holistic and participatory approach to media education. The resource center was established in 2014 as the incipient phase to build a larger community of practice (CoP) in media literacy education in Romania and in the South-Eastern European region. We train and assist media education practitioners (especially teachers, trainers and librarians) to work together to advance media literacy in their local organizations, schools, libraries and communities among children and youth. Critical attitude towards media content and practices is in the center of the Mediawise educational tools and training. The Mediawise program was shortlisted for the 2017 Evens Prize for Media Education along with other 11 media literacy projects in Europe.
