Of this amount, 13 billion Euros are spent in the outpatient sector (technical aids, other medical supplies) and 7 billion Euros for the inpatient sector (material costs in hospitals). With this volume, Germany is by far the largest market in Europe. It is about twice as large as the French and three times as large as the British or Italian market.
