Medswana

Medswana is a fully licensed Pharmaceutical and Veterinary Distributor and Wholesaler located at Block 8, Plot 61127 in Gaborone, Botswana. The company was established in 1994 and started trading in 1995. In 1996, a privately-owned Group in South Africa, acquired the total issued share capital of Medswana, at that stage Medswana was one of only three Pharmaceutical wholesalers in Botswana. True to Medswana’s nature as a leader and an innovative company, Medswana was the first Pharmaceutical Wholesaler to start supplying the retail sector with OTC and Front Shop products in 2004, thus making us a one stop shop for our customers. In 2006 a fully fledged Veterinary distribution division was launched. Medswana also grew to become the sole distributor for several Multi-National Companies in Botswana. At the start of 2011 Medswana signed a 3-year Public Private Partnership joint venture with The Department of Health and Bomaid for the exclusive distribution of medication to patients that are currently on the Government of Botswana's HIV treatment scheme. Since 2013 Medswana has been the sole supplier for one of the biggest private hospitals, Life Group Gaborone Private Hospital in Gaborone. Since 1st August 2017 Medswana has also been the sole supplier to Lenmed Health Bokamoso Private Hospital, the second biggest private hospital in Botswana. Our staff compliment of 72 includes 4 full-time Pharmacists, a fully-fledged tele-sales department as well as a fully functional marketing division. Our Regulatory Division assists with registrations of products with BOMRA. Through our own fleet, deliveries to clients in Gaborone are done every 3 hours & to the rest of the country within 24 hours. Our tele-sales department is active from 0800hrs - 1700hrs during the week and from 08:00hrs - 1300hrs on Saturdays to take orders. Medswana has grown immensely in 25 years from very humble beginnings to being the leader in the Pharmaceutical Distribution industry in Botswana.
