Did you participate in the 2010-11 RST Pathfinder Pilot Programme? The NHS’ Revalidation Pilot Toolkit (RPT) project formally closed on 31 March 2011 but will be kept open for a three month run-off period so that pilot participants can access the toolkit to export their data. Doctors will not be able to access this toolkit after 30 June 2011 and after 1 July 2011 all data held on the system will be deleted in accordance with the Department of Health’s obligations to the Data Protection Act. At Medtracker, we appreciate that there are some uncertainties as to what the 2011-12 appraisal process will be as the RST transition from the Strengthened Medical Appraisal (SMA) to the Medical Appraisal Framework (MAF). If you are excited about the possibility of being an early adopter for revalidation then you will need to keep up to date with your annual appraisal, and in an effort to make this easier for you, Medtracker is offering to upload 2010-11 appraisal data, free of charge, for all pilot participants who used the NHS Revalidation Pilot Toolkit. A Senior NHS Consultant Anaesthetist who participated in a National Pathfinder Pilot for Locum Doctors said of his experience of using the toolkit as: “I found that Medtracker was a simple and intuitive system to use and ensured that appraisal was conducted properly, without becoming tiresome and bureaucratic. It particularly helped both myself and the appraisee to remember all the requirements for revalidation.”
