Sub-specialty interests in shoulder and knee sports reconstruction and arthroplasty. Mr James Chiu is a highly qualified and fellowship trained Australian orthopaedic surgeon. He has particular expertise and sub-specialty interests in shoulder and knee surgery. He is a member of the University of Melbourne alumni, having obtained his MBBS in 2001. He subsequently was awarded his fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011. He has further increased his expertise and competency in orthopaedic surgery with international fellowships in North America and France, in the fields of orthopaedic sports medicine reconstruction, upper extremity reconstruction, arthroscopy and arthroplasty. Whilst in North America, he was one of the Team Physicians for the National Hockey League team, Winnipeg Jets, and the Canadian Football League team, Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He is multi-lingual and able to converse in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghainese. Providing excellent patient care and surgical outcomes is of the utmost importance to him.
