Mental Health Professionals' Network

MHPN is a government-funded organisation that provides free CPD and networking opportunities for Australian mental health professionals across all fields. These activities put into practice what national policy, standards, clinical frameworks and evidence consistently identify as important to support quality multidisciplinary and collaborative care. This model is widely recognised as the optimal approach for improving patient outcomes while sustaining practitioner wellbeing and strengthening the integrity of our mental health workforce. MHPN’s webinars are flexible and offered at no cost. They feature case-based discussions, interactivity, and practical application simulations that equip practitioners with new skills and support the delivery of care that is accessible, coordinated, culturally responsive and person-centred. They are also reflective of the diversity of community and clinical practice, contextualised through a focus on specific priority cohorts, conditions, and life stages. Our ‘Mental Health in Practice’ podcast similarly highlights the valuable contributions of different mental health disciplines and showcases real-world examples of multidisciplinary and collaborative care. Episodes feature local and international industry leaders and explore a broad range of topics. MHPN also supports more than 375 professional networks in our unique National Networks Program. Network meetings provide mental health practitioners with ongoing opportunities to upskill, exchange insights, increase resilience, address barriers, and nurture a sense of community. They facilitate realistic, respectful and continuing conversations among professionals across all fields, prioritising role clarity, innovative team structures, resource sharing, streamlined referral pathways and mutual peer support.
