Merani

Georgian Technical University ensemble `Merani` was founded in 1934 by famous Georgian dancer Gano Bagrationi. From 1993 until now ensemble has been leading by Georgian art honored Art workers Mr. Teimuraz Kobakhidze and Mrs. Nino Lazishvili During its life `Merani` represented its performance in more than 30 countries. The list of visited countries include: Netherlands, Belgium, Syria, Turkey, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Finland, Spain, India, Tunis, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Greece, France. In the recent years `Merani` successfully represented its unique culture in Italy, USA, Cyprus, Qatar, Estonia and Germany. Ensemble `Merani` is the owner of Bursa International folk dance festival Grand-Prix (Altin Karagoz), as well as Syria international festival Grand Prix and several Georgian national festivals main prizes. From 2010 Merani is the member of UNESCO CID. In March 2015 ensemble successfully performed on International Economic Development Conference, which was held in Egypt (first time this year). The Conference was attended by official delegation from 112 Countries and ensemble performed 1 hour program in Roman Theater and “Hollywood” during 3 days. The repertoire of following ensemble includes more than 15 different dances, represented in national costumes. Each dance has individual technique and is perfectly performed by 50 high level dancer of ensemble `Merani`. Gained experience and master ship of each member as well as group leaders helps ensemble to be highly competitive and potential winner of international folk dance festivals.
