Mercy Maternity Center, Inc.(MMC) was established in 1996 as a charity lying-in birthing center. Located in Dacudao - Obrero, Davao City, Philippines, Mercy Maternity serves pregnant women and babies within greater Davao City as well as surrounding areas. MMC has a dedicated group of midwives, nurses, and support staff whose vision is to serve mothers and babies. We provide safe, professional, competent, compassionate, and kind midwifery care to any pregnant mother and family in or around Davao City. Our vision is to share the love of Christ through the provision of midwifery care services. We believe in natural childbirth and support women to deliver their babies naturally while being supported through labor and birth. All women are allowed to have a companion of their choice with them throughout their labor and delivery. MMC is a Mother-Friendly and Baby-Friendly facility allowing mothers to remain with their babies throughout the entire post-partum period. Breastfeeding is encouraged and supported by all midwives and nurses at MMC. MMC practices the Midwives Model of Care based on the fact that pregnancy and birth is a normal life process. The Midwives Model of Care includes: Monitoring the mother throughout her pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum periods Providing the mother with individualized education, counselling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support Minimizing unnecessary technological interventions
