Merge Technologies provides the highest quality electric switchable privacy film and switchable laminated glass technology that allows privacy, cinematic advertising, and multimedia display. Merge Privacy Film, also called PDLC film, whose light scattering power is adjustable by applying an electric field, is eminently suited to function as a rear projection display in the ON state (opaque white). This means you can turn your building’s glass into an advertising display by projecting a movie from inside. When the power is turned on, visible light scatters through the polymer liquid crystal and the film turns to an opaque white which lets light through, gorgeous when backlit; when power is off, the film turns clear and the glass becomes transparent again.
