MeritKapital is an FCA (#720609) and CySEC (#077/06) licensed investment firm with offices in the UK and Cyprus. The firm has a focus within the fixed income space where this relates to its asset management offering but also within its proprietary trading and brokerage services. It is very well placed within the emerging market space. Post the Bank of Cyprus bank bail-in by the Troika, MeritKapital became the biggest proprietary trader of such claims on the island. This factor coupled with its fixed income niche has facilitated relationships with large institutional buy side funds with a distressed debt and emerging market focus. MeritKapital is also a CySEC licensed custodian and SWIFT member and has indirect accounts with euroclear and clearstream while it is a direct custodian and broker of the Cyprus Stock Exchange. It has a considerable custody client pool which is predominantly comprised by fixed income broker dealers that wish to trade securities back to back.
