Messy Adventures

Messy play is sensory play, enabling children to work with their hands, fingers, feet, in fact their whole body, to create a controlled mess. This often involves the use of traditional ingredients such as sand, slime, water, jelly, flour and mud to use for the exploration of sensory feelings and imagination. The idea is to provide children with a variety of materials to explore textures and sensations, delving into a world of play and make believe. All of the materials used in our classes are provided, they are homemade and safe for children. There are proven benefits to messy play, it aids physical development, hand-eye co-ordination and supports language development; all of which help us with every day basic tasks. Research has shown that messy play is one of the best ways to nurture and foster a child’s formative learning.
