Metcela Inc. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company with the mission to "Unleash the Cell Potential." We are committed to shaping the future of patients by developing groundbreaking cell therapies for diseases that currently have limited therapeutic options. Metcela is focused on the development of next-generation regenerative medicines, primarily leveraging autologous cardiac stem cell (CSC) technologies. Our lead candidate, JRM-001, is an autologous cardiac stem cell-based product designed for pediatric patients with functional single ventricle, a rare and severe congenital heart disease. The long-term safety and efficacy of JRM-001 have already been observed in Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical studies, where treated patients showed significant clinical improvement with high tolerability over a eight-year follow-up period. Building on these promising results, Metcela is currently conducting a Phase 3 pivotal trial in Japan to evaluate the efficacy and safety of JRM-001 for patients following the Glenn or Fontan surgical procedures. Our translational approach is based on a strong research foundation and strategic partnerships with leading academic institutions.
