The company MetricTrade Ltd was founded in in Thessaloniki. The company's main purpose is the development of Internet-based applications for monitoring stock exchanges and executing transactions. Since 2002, it has provided solutions for the online execution of orders on shares and since 2004 for the online execution of orders on derivatives. Thanks to the unique characteristics of its systems (response time, duration of orders, stop orders, streamlined image of portfolios) it dominates the Greek market in this area. In 2003, the company became the official data feed vendor for the shares and derivatives markets of the Athens Stock Exchange, in 2006 for purchasing shares in the Cyprus Stock Exchange, in 2009 for XETRA and EURONEXT, and in 2012 for the CBOE. Within a few years, the company became the largest data feed vendor of the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) and one of the largest of the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE) in number of terminals. Today, 1 in 2 terminals of the CSE and 1 in 4 terminals of the ASE (with a depth of prices and FTSE indexes) is a ZTrade terminal. 10 brokerage companies (leaders in the private sector) and 3 Banks use the ZTrade as their order registration system.
