MetroNaps was founded in 2003. It all began because we saw people falling asleep: at work, underneath a conference table, in a toilet stall, on the train, in all kinds of places. A drop in alertness in the afternoon is a normal part of the human sleep-wake cycle, affecting productivity, creativity and even mood. But people were hiding to recharge, because perception was stigmatic. Our conclusion: a place of work should have a dedicated space for resting, to help workers get the most out of their day, and organizations to improve their performance. That’s why we created the EnergyPod: the world’s first chair designed specifically for napping in the workplace. Through our patented solution, we have created the gold standard that provides unique functionality, requires limited space and helps overcome dated stigma related to sleep. Leading employers acknowledge the vital need for sufficient sleep and they are supporting this by providing their employees with dedicated rest facilities. We work for a broad range of clients and have implemented installations in offices, hospitals, universities and fitness centers in dozens of countries across four continents.
