Metropoli

Fundación Metropoli is an international institution founded in 1997 at the University of Pennsylvania. Originally established as Fundación Metropoli, the organization has since evolved into METROPOLI, an international group focused on cities and territories. Today, METROPOLI operates through a complementary ecosystem that includes- Fundación Metropoli - Metropoli Cities Lab - Metropoli Urban Solutions Together, these entities work collaboratively to contribute globally to the acceleration of economic development, competitiveness, quality of life, and sustainability in cities and regions. METROPOLI’s projects integrate two essential components: urban intelligence and digital technology. The work of Fundación Metropoli is structured around three primary, synergistic instruments for the development of cities and territories: 01. RESEARCH – Knowledge creation and sharing 02. DESIGN LAB – New ideas, new projects 03. INCUBATION – From ideas to reality Through the METROPOLI ecosystem, the group has collaborated with numerous cities worldwide, applying its philosophy of “Intelligent Territories.” This approach enables cities and regions to generate unique magnetism and to develop high-impact strategic initiatives and projects. METROPOLI has received multiple international recognitions from institutions such as the United Nations, the European Union, the European Council of Spatial Planners, institutes of architects, and business associations. Notably, it has been awarded the European Urban & Regional Planning Awards on three occasions and the Global Smart Cities Award in 2015.
