Metroweb Italia

Metroweb Italia is a company supported by two large Italian investment funds - F2i (Fondi Italiani per le Infrastrutture) and FSI/CDP (Fondo Strategico Italiano by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti); it’s active in Italy in the operation and maintenance of ultra-broadband access networks, entirely based on optical fiber. The company aims at providing Italy with an efficient and future-proof network infrastructure, according to the objectives of the Digital Agenda 2020 set by the EU, in such a way to be aligned with the most advanced countries. FTTH (Fiber To The Home) is the mainstream technology adopted by Metroweb Italia to access households and offices; Metroweb Italia strongly believes that this approach is the more adequate to serve emerging ultrabroadband needs in the more dense urban areas. Today’s main objective of Metroweb Italia is to replicate nationwide the virtuous model adopted in Milan and Genoa to encourage competition between service providers via offering new ultrabroadband services.
