Michael Kai Photography

Originally from Germany, Michael is currently based in Melbourne. He explored and developed an enthusiasm for photography at a young age. On completion of high school he took the opportunity to work as a documentary photographer in former Yugoslavia immediately after the war. He then studied photography, completing his degree in Photo Design at the University of Dortmund, Germany and intermediately studied at RMIT, Melbourne, Australia. Michael gained many years of experience in the commercial industry by assisting, professional retouching and freelance photography. His work has won multiple international awards, including the RedDot Design Award, Arte Laguna, International Color Award and Adobe Design Achievement Award. In 2008 he was named Best Commercial Photographer and Best Overall Photographer amongst the emerging photographers in the ACMP Projections competition. Michael's specialty is his straightforward style of using graphics and colours and his commercial clients have included companies & organisations such as Apple, Fujifilm, RACV, City of Melbourne, CareSuper and Nissan.
