A fine art studio specializing in mixed media art work. The two-dimensional work tends towards abstract consisting mostly of acrylic paint and paper of all kinds. The three-dimensional work is meant to be functional. I make tables and chairs using recycled and found objects: corks, driftwood, tile, and sea glass to name just a few of my materials. Some pieces also incorporate resin to encase the objects and provide a flat surface. The projects have grown to include other found materials: scrap flooring, rusty metal, dried beans, anything that catches my eye. Experimentation is a big part of the process; for instance I have learned that corks can withstand grouting and that wood will float in resin. While the purpose was to make functional art at least one “tabletop” has become a wall-hung piece. Still, all the furniture is meant to be used and is structurally sound. Commissions are encouraged.
