Microfarms

Microfarms is specialized in sustainable proteins from insects for the food and feed industry. Our mission is to make insect-based protein affordable and accessible to everyone, and to provide a viable and sustainable alternative to more polluting sources of protein. We base our production process on circular economy principles, using food waste as feed for our insects, and selling the mineral-rich frass to fertilize the land. We want to stimulate local economies and supply chains by having a distributed network of insect farmers. Not only does this create employment and new enterprise opportunities, but it also has a low environmental impact and makes communities more resistant to crises. We are based in São Paulo, Brazil, and our network of partners and advisors spans the globe, including countries like Argentina and The Netherlands.
