Midtown Olive Oil

Inspired by delicious, authentic and healthy ingredients, the owners of Midtown Olive Oil decided to bring a tasting experience of our unique flavors of balsamic vinegars and the very freshest olive oils to the Triangle, Triad, and Eastern NC areas. Midtown Olive Oil is committed to always having the freshest and highest quality Extra Virgin Olive Oils (EVOO) available. Not all olive oil is extra virgin, in fact EVOO must contain an acidity level of no more than.8% and accounts for less than 10% of all olive oils. Olives that are crushed before the fruit is ripe will produce a low acidity but a bitter or harsh taste. Overripe fruit produces a high yield but must be refined prior to consumption. Crushing the fruit at the precise ripeness yields a high quality EVOO. Quality EVOO should have high polyphenol counts and oleic acid levels and low free fatty acid (FFA) and peroxide levels. Midtown Olive Oil carefully selects our olive oils with these criteria in mind.
