Miladay Fine Jewels

MILADAY JEWELS was founded in 1966 by enterprising couple Milagros Salgado and Vincent Dayrit, at the garage of their home in Makati. Ever since they wed on January 17, 1959, the couple had become a tandem to reckon with. With their marriage came love, passion and a business partnership that gave birth to Miladay Jewels. In the early ‘60s, Ting came home from Japan with a packet of loose pearls as “pasalubong” for Mila. She took them to a local goldsmith who executed designs based on her specifications. Mila’s friends began to place their orders. Thus, the birth of her little industry. In 1966, the demand for Mila’s jewels grew so Ting converted the garage of their home into a jewelry workshop. Silver screen sweethearts Fernando Poe Jr. and Susan Roces were one of the very first couples to order wedding bands from Mila’s little jewelry workshop for their altar date on December 25, 1968. In 1969, Ting moved their operations to a real store at Angela Arcade in Makati Commercial Center and named it Miladay which meant Mila’s Day or “Araw ni Mila.” Miladay became a byword in the jewelry industry. In 1997, Ting and Mila Dayrit passed away. Their children took over the ownership and operations of Miladay. Miladay Jewels has its headquarters, production facilities, and flagship store at 150 Jupiter St, Bel-Air Village, Makati City, and stores located at Glorietta 4, Alabang Town Center, The Podium, SM Mall of Asia, SM Fairview Terraces, The Block-SM North Edsa, Trinoma and SM Taytay City. Apart from creating beautiful investments, Miladay offers jewelry loans, custom-made jewelry, jewelry repairs and cleaning, watch repair, re-stranding, professional appraisals, corporate gifts and installment plans. Miladay also produced award-winning jewelry pieces in the annual Philippine Fine Jewelry Design Competition for two consecutive years in 2005 and 2006. Miladay Jewels is a two-time Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands awardee for 2006 and 2007.
