Mimi Care Group

Mimi Care Group has introduced Shrewsbury House, a purposely designed dementia-specific day care centre to the community of South Dublin. We have introduced a new way of providing care to our clients. By attending our day centre our clients can avail of multi-disciplinary care within the centre by allowing them to have access to in house services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, ophthalmology, audiology, chiropody, and hair care. Shrewsbury House also boasts of a sensory garden, hairdressers and a cinema too. We refer to our model of care as a ‘social model’. It focuses on supporting our clients to live beyond their diagnosis of dementia by focusing on what they can do, and not what they can’t do. We focus strongly on physical activity programmes tailored for each client to enhance their physical wellbeing, concentrating on the activities they require for day-to-day life.
