My name is Pauline Clarke. I am a Mindfulness, Well-being, Mental Health Mentor. I am also a Reiki Master which means i work with both energy and experience to help people with their health and well-being. I focus mostly on stress, anxiety and depression and help people to prevent and deal with these issues. I am very passionate about preventing Mental Health issues, i believe that strategies should be taught in our school system as we grow to help us deal with our mental health. I believe prevention is very important but unfortunately a lot of people do not understand mental health until they are in it. There is so many ways we can look after ourselves and our mental health and am very passionate about delivering ways to help people. My main reason for choosing this career and been so passionate about it is unfortunately when i was 12 years old my Dad began to suffer from depression. It was 1991 and there was a lot of stigma around depression. My mother got him help, all the help she could, he was hospitalised many many times and medicated. So after 5 home moves in 6 years, depression took my Dad. He suffered for 6 years and them 6 years were a very very tough time on us all. We lived with a man we did not know. Depression had taken my Dad and replaced him with a very different man. Depression is a disease like any other disease but the person suffering dies by suicide. I am willing to scream about prevention and help anyone i can with their mental health. Pauline x
