Mindful Community School

Mindful Community School is committed to offering an up-to-date, quality, educational program. Our curriculum contains clearly defined expectations for student learning, based on Core Common Standards, MCrel, Bville, The National Council of Teachers Performance Standards and the Dominican Republic mandated curricula. Consequently, the school provides a highly constructive and competitive college preparatory program that meets the performance standards of universities both in the United States and in the Dominican Republic. The academic courses aim to expand and integrate knowledge, and to develop personal and social skills through active participation in meaningful learning experiences, real world experiences, problem based learning, and research, which are all aligned with the school’s vision and mission statements. Sound pedagogical methodologies such as the use of Whole Language, Multi-sensory Approach and Constructivism provide students with educational opportunities to develop and integrate newly acquired knowledge and skills. Mindful Community School emerged from a distinguished Spanish speaking school “Mi Colegio”, which has served the Dominican educational population since 1976. Mindful Community School is an independent institution officially founded as a private, non-sectarian school in 1996, that serves the Dominican and foreign population interested in a U.S. type curriculum. It offers an educational program to Preschool, Elementary, Middle and High School Students.
