Dr. Komal Gupta is a clinical psychologist who provides individual therapy (virtual and in-person in Newton, MA) and intensive psychoanalytic psychotherapy services for adults in the Greater Boston Area. With over 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Gupta assists clients with navigating challenges they experience with their family, relationships, parenthood, culture(s), and identity that impact their well-being. Dr. Gupta's personal and professional experiences have increased her depth of understanding of how family, society, culture, intersecting identities, religion/spirituality, politics, languages, and intergenerational history can shape and influence who we are, our sense of belonging and connection, and our ways of coping with the challenges we face. She values the importance of considering the interplay of sociocultural context, the mind, and the body in understanding someone’s strengths and areas of difficulty. She aspires for her clients to truly feel that they can be themselves, to speak freely about what they think and feel, and to work as a team to address their concerns.
